Paul Herbert Sensei
Paul Herbert Sensei visited Samurai Karate School on Saturday 17th November. The day started with a fantastic course . Which in short was a truly amazing day. This was most certainly the best and most successful event of our 19 year history.
There were 3 sessions cover by Paul Herbert Sensei , which catered for all grades and experiences. Firstly, 48 students attended session One. In addition to 44 training in the second session. After that 20 senior grades were put through their paces in the final session. Above all everyone had a brilliant time adding lots to their Karate knowledge.
Paul Herbert Sensei taught an indepth and hugely enjoyable 3 hour session. Students were educated , challenged and as a result hugely engaged. We worked on basic Karate principal. For example Shuto Uke and Kokutsu Dachi . Firstly working on Kihon practice and combinations. Subsequenlty introducing more practical applications.
The focus Kata for senior grades was Bassi Dai . Most importantly fine tuning technical positions and movement within the sequence . Parcatical applications were introduced after that.

Paul Herbert Sensei presented Samurai Chief Sensei Steve King with his Godan , 5th Dan. It was a huge surprise and totally unexpected. Paul Sensei had some very heartfelt encouraging and praiseworthy words. Similary for both Steve Sensei and the Samurai School.

This was a very proud moment for Steve Sensei. It was 20 years to the day he achieved Shodan , 1st dan. It was a great honour to have Paul Sensei present this award.
