Its end of week 7 and now only 4 weeks until the 1 year anniversary of the first lockdown. The last 2 weeks have been as challenging as any. That is for all of us, even the ones with tough exteriors. Maintaining the focus on engagement and motivation is still the key objective. The importance of creating short term certainty is a more empowering action than worrying about long term uncertainty.
Once we are working on a certainty, something we are sure of, and can trust in our mood lifts as a result. The small chunks of certainty that we create for ourselves will act like stepping-stones. Building our positivity, mental strength along with or resilience.

Each stepping-stone of certainty continues to build that resilience. A focus on what we can be sure of creates a positive mindset. This as a result equips us with the mental focus to deal with challenges that may face us.
Creating Short Term Certainty
Whenever we are faced with a situation first look at what we know. Second look at what we can do and use what we know. From there formulate a list of what you can be certain of and trust. This is you action list of reliability.
The certainties, things you can do, as well as the areas of trust are the building blocks in a successful campaign when facing difficulties or challenges.
Over the past two weeks we have trusted our training. Relied on the certainty of its purpose and used it as one of the things we can do. That’s is something positive that we can all continue to do.
I have always trusted in training as there has always been a certainty in its effect. A certainty and a reliability I have always trusted and seen the benefits of. Because of this trust I have cultivated this trust and certainty in others so that they may benefit from the positive physical and mental benefits.
I am seeing that certainty and these benefits each week in our Zoom classes. Students growing in confidence and strength, developing technique and displaying energy.
The added bonus of maintaining a structure and routine is equally beneficial to mental and physical health.
These are the things that we can do, things we can be certain off and things we can trust in. This will keep us strong as long as we maintain consistency.
Long term consistency out- performs short term intensity.
Your long-term consistency is in fact your intensity and the infinite game builds stronger foundations of certainty and resilience.
Each week my just cause is to provide an element of certainty. Something my students can be sure of and trust in. Ultimately that they can benefit from and grow personally as a consequence.
